Extensive orders maximize cap three years early
Wallingford, CT (USA) - DNE Systems, Inc., a
provider of tactical voice and data communication solutions, announces
a $50 Million increase to the ceiling of its current multi-year
contract with the US Army Communication and Electronics Command
(CECOM). Signed in 2001, the Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity
(IDIQ) requirements contract was expected to cover the US Army's
requirements until 2006. Increased demand for DNE's new, unique
tactical networking products has resulted in the contractual ceiling
being reached in just two years. DNE Systems, Inc. is a wholly owned
subsidiary of the Alpine Group, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: ALPG).
DNE provides network access products that efficiently transports
information in both broadband and narrowband applications while
retaining compatibility with existing legacy systems, providing
a cost-effective and seamless transition to Network Centric Operations.
DNE's primary customers are the U.S. Department of Defense and System
Integrators designing communication systems for tactical and Homeland
Security applications. DNE also holds an IDIQ requirements contract
with the US Navy through 2005.
"This implies confidence in DNE products and their continued
use throughout the US Army and their communication systems,"
noted DNE President and CEO William Gill. "Were dedicated
to providing quality products for Network Centric Communication
Systems for many years to come." He added that the contract
was amended shortly before the close of the government fiscal year-end
on September 30th.
DNE products are used to provide communications between deployed
troops and their command centers. The requirements contracts cover
all DNE communication products, including Tactical Multiplexers,
Protocol Converters, Multi-Service Access Concentrators and ISDN
Extenders. The amended contract ceiling will allow both existing
and new programs to purchase DNE equipment, upgrades to existing
fielded units, repairs, and spare parts.
