Only company to offer this advanced-technology
ATM interface
Wallingford, CT (USA) - DNE Technologies, a provider
of tactical voice and data communication solutions, announces the
release of three new AAL2 Compressed/Secure Voice ATM interfaces.
DNE is the only company to offer this advanced-technology ATM interface,
which frees up significant bandwidth for the tactical user by combining
G.729 8kbps voice compression with Secure modem relay.
Available in a 24-channel T1, 4-port Analog FXS, or a 4-port Analog
E&M design, DNE's new Compressed/Secure Voice cards are
unique in their handling of Secure Calls. Most ATM products use
a modem bypass to process Secure voice over 32kbps or even 64kbps,
wasting a large amount of network bandwidth. DNE's new interfaces
negotiate a secure call at either 2.4kbps, 4.8kbps, or 9.6kbps,
freeing up bandwidth for other uses.
In addition to providing a bandwidth-efficient low-bit rate, STU-III
(or STE in STU-mode) solution for transporting Secure Voice over
an ATM network, these interfaces also support non-secure compressed
voice with either 8kbps CS-ACELP or 16, 24 or 32kbps ADPCM algorithms.
These new interfaces can be used in DNE's TAC ATM Concentrator
products, which allow "legacy" Department of Defense (DoD)
and commercial equipment access to today's modern ATM networks.
They offer an affordable transition toward end-to-end ATM networking
while retaining support for critical applications, including Secure
Voice, encryption, legacy serial, and CDI devices.
DNE's TAC ATM Product line concentrates and switches voice,
data, and video onto an ATM network and consists of three models:
the TAC-200 supports speeds to T1/E1, the TAC-300 with speeds up
to 155Mbps OC-3c/STM-1, and the higher port-count TAC-900 that also
offers power and control redundancy. In addition to the new Compressed/Secure
Voice interfaces, all models offer a broad selection of network
and user interfaces, including 20Mbps Serial ATM, IP-LAN, Video,
Ethernet, PBX, Framed Services, Native ATM, and Circuit Emulation.
The DNE TAC product line features IP transport, native ATM cell
switching, PVC/ S-PVC/ SVC/AS-PVC connection flexibility, analog
and digital voice support, virtual LAN and data router access. They
also support Unspecified Bit Rate (UBR), Variable Bit Rate (VBR)
and Constant Bit Rate (CBR) ATM Services.
DNE's Manager of Marketing Peter Gladis stated, "The release
of these unique interfaces demonstrates DNE's commitment to
the DoD's evolving network challenges. They can also support
other emerging critical communications needs, such as Homeland Security
and Emergency Response Teams requirements. DNE recognizes its customers
require a reliable network, maximum bandwidth availability, and
Secure communications. These cards, designed for our successful
TAC ATM Concentrator line, address all three requirements."
Mr. Gladis added, "These interfaces complement DNE's other
new option cards: our new single and 4-port 20Mb Serial ATM cards,
with a user-selectable crypto resync circuit, that allows encrypted
traffic to be sent over a satellite. We truly offer the DoD a complete,
reliable communication solution that is ready to provide real benefits
NOW."
DNE has also recently released a new CV-8448 NRZ-CDI converter line,
with both electrical and fiber-optic interfaces that allow standard
NRZ devices to interface with CDI networks. DNE also continues to
manufacture its widely-installed AN/FCC-100 multiplexer.
