Offers serial data rates up to 8,192 kbps
Wallingford, CT (USA) - DNE Technologies, a provider
of voice and data communication solutions, announces the release
of its new Serial WAN ATM Interface Card. This interface is designed
for use in DNE's TAC-200 and TAC-300 Tactical ATM Concentrators,
and offers serial data rates up to 8,192 kbps. The Serial WAN XPOD
allows legacy equipment to operate with satellite modems and encryption
equipment. The TAC product line is very cost-effective, starting
at $7,800.
DNE's TAC ATM Product line concentrates voice, data, and video
onto an ATM network. All models offer a unique selection of tactical
ATM interfaces, including the Serial WAN interface, a multiport
Serial Circuit Emulation (CES) Interface, and a TRI-TAC CDI Interface.
The Serial CES and CDI interfaces will be released later this year.
In addition, secure compressed voice interfaces are also being developed
for these units for introduction this year. The DNE TAC Product
line also includes a broad selection of standard interfaces, including
LAN, video, Ethernet, PBX, Native ATM, and circuit emulation. The
TAC-200 outputs at T1/E1 speeds, and the TAC-300 offers speeds up
to OC-3/STM-1.
All DNE TAC ATM Concentrators are designed to allow "legacy"
Department of Defense (DoD) and commercial equipment access to today's
modern ATM networks. They permit an affordable transition toward
end-to-end ATM networking while retaining critical application features.
The T1/E1 TAC-200 can easily be upgraded in the field to a TAC-300
unit with OC-3/STM-1 rates by installing a new software configuration and
high-speed interface cards.
The DNE TAC product line features native ATM cell switching, PVC/
S-PVC/ SVC connection flexibility, analog and digital voice support,
virtual LAN access, and data router access. They also support Unspecified
Bit Rate (UBR), Variable Bit Rate (VBR) and Constant Bit Rate (CBR)
ATM Services. Custom circuits can be configured to pass AAL5 traffic
at speeds approaching 100 Mbps.
Product Marketing Manager Peter Gladis stated, "DNE's
TAC ATM Concentrators with our new Serial WAN Interface offers users
a broad set of capabilities. This new interface can combine video,
compressed voice, and LAN traffic and translate them into a serial
bit stream. The information can then be encrypted, sent to a satellite
modem, and transmitted efficiently." Mr. Gladis added, "The
TAC product line supports wireless, cabled, or optical transmission
media for maximum application flexibility."
The TAC-200 and TAC-300 are fully compatible with DNE's AN/FCC-100
multiplexers and can address numerous remote data access applications.
They can also be used in conjunction with DNE's CV2048 NRZ/CDI
Converter line, and the DNE ISDN family of products.
