$12 million contract to supply various communication
products
Wallingford, CT (USA) - Superior TeleCom Inc.
(SUT: NYSE), through its DNE Technologies, Inc. subsidiary, announced
today the award of a five-year contract from the U.S. Navy to supply
AN/FCC-100 multiplexers, TAC-200 and TAC-300 ATM Concentrators,
and other communications products. The contract is valued at approximately
$12 million. DNE Technologies, Inc. is a leading provider of voice
and data communication solutions.
The requirements contract covers a range of DNE products, including
multiplexers for ship and shore use, ATM Concentrators, ISDN equipment,
Converters, and spare hardware. The contract will cover both new
installations and upgrades to existing DNE equipment previously
installed.
This award is in addition to an earlier $10 million contract, awarded
in 1997, that, at the time, was estimated to cover the Navy's
requirements until 2002. With increased demand for DNE's multiplexers
and the Navy's interest in a number of DNE's new products,
such as their CV-2048 NRZ to CDI Converter and their new ATM Concentrator
product line, the contractual ceiling was approached in just three
years.
DNE Technologies, Inc. President and CEO William Gill, stated "We
are gratified that the Navy continues to rely on DNE products, not
only for their current needs, but also to meet their communication
challenges for the 21st Century. We are committed to supplying the
Navy, as well as our entire customer base, with high quality state-of-the-art
equipment."
