Contract awards have DNE providing converters,
multiplexers for Marines
Wallingford, CT (USA) - DNE Technologies, a provider
of voice and data communication solutions, announces the award of
two contracts from GTE Government Systems. The first order is a
$7.6 million contract for protocol converters, awarded April 14,
and the second order a $1.5M contract for AN/FCC-100(V)9 multiplexers,
awarded May 5. The contracts are deliverable over the next two years,
and contain options for additional purchases. The converter - to
be called the CV-2048-M - along with the multiplexers, will be used
in the Tactical Data Network/Digital Technical Control (TDN/DTC)
program for the Marine Corps. GTE was awarded this $77.2 M program
in January of 1999.
The Tactical Data Network/Digital Technical Control (TDN/DTC) program
provides a deployable control capability for communications support
organizations, acting as the primary interface between subscriber
systems/networks within a local area and long-haul multi-channel
transmission system. The AN/FCC-100(V) series is considered the
workhorse of military communications, offering features combining
military-specific applications with modern network technology. The
pairing of the DNE CV-2048 NRZ to CDI converter and the
DNE AN/FCC-100(V)9 multiplexer allow data communication and encryption
devices to be physically grouped to simplify monitoring and control
of communication links. The compact packaging can be quickly installed
in transit cases, mobile vans, communications shelters, and other
critical communications networks, allowing CDI interfaces on data
routers to be configured to run at higher speeds, in order for the
signal to be compatible with popular subscriber networks.
